Production process of galvanized barrels

  1. Raw material preparation
The main raw materials of galvanized barrels include steel plates and zinc. According to market research data, global steel production is expected to reach 1.87 billion tons in 2023, while the annual output of zinc is about 13.9 million tons. These raw materials need to undergo strict quality inspections before entering the production line to ensure that they meet production standards.
  2. Molding process
Molding is one of the key steps in the production of galvanized barrels. First, the steel plate is cut into the appropriate size by a shearing machine, and then stamped using a mold. This process requires high-precision equipment to ensure that the shape and size of the barrel body are consistent.

Data support
The accuracy of the shearing machine is usually controlled within ±0.5 mm.
The speed of stamping can reach 30 units per minute.

  1. Galvanizing treatment
Galvanizing is to improve the corrosion resistance of the barrel and extend its service life. Common galvanizing methods are hot-dip galvanizing and electrogalvanizing. Among them, hot-dip galvanizing is widely used because of its low cost and good anti-corrosion effect.

Hot-dip galvanizing process
Pretreatment: Pickle the formed barrel to remove oxides and other impurities on the surface.
Coating agent treatment: Immerse the barrel in ammonium chloride or zinc chloride solution to form a protective film.
Hot-dip galvanizing: Immerse the barrel in molten zinc liquid and keep it for a certain period of time so that the zinc layer is evenly attached to the surface of the barrel.
Cooling: After being taken out of the zinc liquid, it is naturally cooled to form a solid zinc layer.
Data support
The temperature of hot-dip galvanizing is usually controlled at around 450℃.
The thickness of the zinc layer is generally required to be not less than 70 microns.

IV. Quality inspection
Every link in the production process needs to be strictly inspected to ensure the qualified rate of the product. Commonly used detection methods include visual inspection, thickness measurement, corrosion resistance test, etc.

Data support
According to the requirements of ISO 9001 quality management system, the qualified rate of finished products should reach more than 98%.
The corrosion resistance test usually adopts a salt spray test, which lasts for no less than 48 hours.

V. Conclusion
The production process of galvanized barrels is a multi-step, high-precision process involving multiple links such as raw material preparation, molding, galvanizing and quality inspection. Through reasonable process design and strict quality control, it can ensure the production of high-quality galvanized barrels to meet market demand.
