5.Installation points of color steel tiles
1.Installation method: The correct way to lay tiles: overlapping (applicable to roofs with a length of <=15m), staggered (applicable to roofs with a length of >=15m)
2.Installation steps:
(1) Install the sealing strip and ridge tile eaves cover: Separate the sealing strip into two halves, press it on the roof according to the tile shape, and use special nails to fix it; at the intersection of the side tiles, use cement to seal it and then directly cover the ridge tiles, and use small tile stops to finish the ridge tiles; directly install the eaves cover at the bottom of the tile, i.e. the eaves, and fix it with screws; at the intersection of the ridge tiles, use scissors to trim the interface, overlap it, and use glass glue to seal it.
(2) Inclined surface connection installation refers to the construction of installing water connection treatment at the bottom after cutting two roof tiles according to angle and length. First, install the water connection material (i.e. gutter) under the tile, and then use waterproof adhesive or cement to finish it.
(3) Waterproof treatment of the protruding part First make a V-shaped material. Different materials and specifications can be selected, depending on the actual situation. After installing the bottom of the water connection, lay the color steel tile on it.
(4) Correct use of special nails: Special nails must be driven into the middle of the tile frame to achieve a waterproof effect; the special nails should be fixed at intervals of 50cm-100cm horizontally and vertically (preferably 4 nails/m); special nails must be driven from the bottom of the tile toward the roof to achieve a beautiful, sealed, and neat effect.
3.Installation precautions
(1) There are two types of fixing methods for color steel plate installation: penetration type and concealed type. The penetration type is the most common method for installing color steel plates on roofs and walls. It is to fix the color plates on the supporting parts (such as purlins) with self-tapping screws or rivets. The penetration type is divided into wave crest fixing, wave trough fixing or a combination of the two. Concealed type fixing is to fix the special concealed buckle that matches the concealed buckle color plate on the supporting parts (such as purlins) first, and the mother rib of the color plate and the center rib of the concealed buckle are meshed. It is generally used for the installation of roof panels.
(2) Lateral and end overlap of color plates When installing each steel plate, its edge overlap should be accurately placed on the previous steel plate and clamped with the previous steel plate until both ends of the steel plate are fixed. During the fixing process, the clamp should always clamp the steel plate in the longitudinal direction. Each steel plate must be completely fixed before installing the next steel plate. Fixing must start from the center of the steel plate, then extend to both sides, and finally fix the overlapping edge of the steel plate. For end overlap, since the roof and wall profiles are made by continuous processing, the steel plates can be supplied in lengths limited by transportation conditions. Usually, overlap is not required and the length of the steel plates is sufficient to meet the needs of roof laying.
(3) Selection of self-tapping screws When selecting fixing screws, the fixings should be selected according to the service life of the structure, and special attention should be paid to whether the service life of the outer covering material is consistent with the specified fixing life. At the same time, it should be noted that the thickness of the steel purlin cannot exceed the self-drilling ability of the screw. The screws currently supplied may have plastic heads, stainless steel top covers or be coated with special durable protective layers.
(4) Details are particularly important For the color steel plates used for roofs, the color steel plates should be trimmed at the roof and eaves to more effectively prevent rainwater from entering the roof. At the ridge of the roof outer plate, the bottom plate located between the terminal ribs of the steel plate can be folded upward with a trimming tool. It is used at the upper end of all roof steel plates with a slope less than 1/2 (250) to ensure that water blown in by wind under the flashing or cover plate will not flow into the building.
(5) In hotter places, an insulation layer should be installed. In the south, color steel plates are generally designed as single layers. In order to reduce the amount of solar radiation entering the building, an insulation layer can be installed in the roof system when installing the roof panels.
